Key Considerations for Replacing Heat Exchange Tubes in Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers

A shell-and-tube heat exchanger, also known as a tube‑bundle heat exchanger, is a type of partitioned heat exchanger that uses the walls of a bundle of tubes enclosed within a shell as the heat-transfer surface. This type of heat exchanger has a relatively simple structure, reliable operation, and can be fabricated from various materials—primarily metals—making it suitable for high‑temperature and high‑pressure applications. It is currently the most widely used heat‑exchanger design. Key considerations when replacing heat‑transfer tubes in a shell-and-tube heat exchanger: 1. The tube surfaces must be free of defects such as cracks, folds, or scale. 2. When tubes need to be joined by welding, each individual heat‑transfer tube may have no more than one weld; however, U‑shaped tubes may have up to two welds.

What is a plate heat exchanger? What are its advantages, and what are its typical applications?

A plate heat exchanger consists of metal plates—typically steel or stainless steel—that are stamped into corrugated channels with a specific geometric pattern. These individual plates are then assembled into multi‑plate packs. Sealing gaskets made of materials such as nitrile rubber are placed between the edges of adjacent plates to form fluid flow paths. Inlet and outlet ports are provided on the plates, allowing two fluids to flow through their respective channels and exchange heat. Due to the complex geometry of the flow channels, even at low flow velocities, turbulence is induced within the grooves, enhancing heat transfer efficiency. Moreover, the large number of channels increases the heat transfer surface area, making this a fast and highly efficient heat‑exchanging device.

Maintaining Vigilance in Epidemic Prevention and Control from Start to Finish: Tackling Both Fronts with Equal Firmness

When enterprises “get moving,” the economy “comes alive.” As work resumption is underway, “machines are running and workers are busy.” Since resuming operations on March 2, Chongqing Shuaihao Machinery Co., Ltd. has steadfastly implemented the government’s epidemic‑prevention and control measures, pursuing a dual‑pronged approach that ensures both effective pandemic response and smooth production. At present, all operations are proceeding steadily. During this period of epidemic prevention and control, companies face a critical test of their risk‑management systems and a rigorous assessment of every manager’s ability to fulfill their responsibilities. The company has carefully studied the General Secretary’s important directives on epidemic control and has urged all leaders and Party members to strengthen their “political awareness” and “sense of the bigger picture,” ensuring…
